A poem is a machine made with words
1996
84 x 48 x 36 inches
Plywood, steel, Plexiglas, motors
The text:
mother of speculation and her enchanting gaze,
formality and meandering in her paged memory,
and a troubled pace as these pages await paper,
relaying tribute on a web of fine words
stolid sequences, sparse monologue
soliloquized imprints speaking into absence
with spareness and caring on the dance floor of events
an unfolding labored answer
